ahmed fakroun a singer/songwriter from libya is widely considered the foremost pioneer of modern arabic world music. his 1977 hit misyan has been recently edited and its production shows how ahead of his time he was. ahmed, a fan of claremont, teams up with mudd to create a bohannon style groove that will give you neck ache from head nodding. beautiful cellos from robin faze action slide in and out and a warm rhodes vamp keeps pushing it towards the next part in the journey. brennan green takes the remix duty and adds another classic remix to claremonts collection. this is something special.

lars niekisch is most well-known for his berlin partnership with frank hermann as trick and kubic. since 2005 they have carved out vintage releases on labels such as get physical and great stuff. voyager is lars first solo release, acidic, ravey and thoroughly deep down and dirty, it has smashed many a main room in recent weeks. voyager has already been licensed to a forthcoming hernan cattaneo mix compilation, and the single also features the debut remix from long term buzzin fly resident dj, chris woodward. the track has received great feedback from a-list club djs including john digweed, solomon, cattaneo and the dirt crew. this is the latest single from ben watts respected imprint, buzzin fly. collectors artwork on the 12inch.

if you like your old classics with a new twist then this needs to be purchased asap as only limited press! a fresh rework of an early underworld production that really kicked start their journey to stardom back in 1993. from barcelona with love who are getting some props from many djs at the mo, plus no strangers to the scene who have worked with the likes bush, tapas...plus more. keeping parts of the original vocal and strings, churning into a growling spaced out tech journey that doesnt loose any impact...four/four all the way. quality!
after a 2 and a half year wait i finally managed to knock out a new single. its actually only my 3rd solo single ever. im very happy with it but ive got mixed feelings trying to describe it. you spend a year working on a track and a lazy shop worker or journalist will lump you into the >cosmicbalearicspacewhatever< straightjacket in 2 seconds, i can at least resist to do the same… anyway, two are quite psychedelic and one is some kind of cover version of one of my favourite villalobos trax. as you can hear ive had loads of fun fooling around in the studio playing the bass, percussion, drums(badly) and synths(even worse…)…

after the resounding success of lunarjam001 the leeds based lunar cadets ticker & cristoidz return with some seriously out there, and rare as roast beef edits for your late night perusal. their first release flirted and got frisky with hott city, loveride and david byrne and put them through the lunar jam cosmic mixer. they have forsaken such formalities with this release though, and have unearthed four tracks from even deeper and darker corners of their collections, and given them a serious going over. already garnering much support from such balearic luminaries as prins thomas & moonboots as always, limited to initial press only polysleeve and photocopied inlay!

axel karakasis once more unleashes his talents and demonstrates his skills in the piranha e.p. in the first track on the main side, the techno wizkid mightily combines a set of systemshaking loops and detroitfunklike piano keys that escalate into a crazy pitching, distortion not to be messed with! add to these some powerful percussion and ominus snares, together with karakasis trademark filter spins and twists and its an epic track that stands out on its own. bloody chamber alternates between nocturnal basslines, vicious subbass and high-pitched synths that are spinetingling. here, axel flirts with electro but you can always rely on him to bring in some serious groove: the result is solid, coherent and the track is something more than special!! the remain side proves equally mindblowing and. flesh eating! piranha is a stunner, adorned with aggressive drums, booming beats and odd sounds throughout the track. once again, it is axels energetic style that comes through, making this track a powerful club tool

along with number 60 in the highgrade catalogue there‘s a new producer team, joining the highgrade posse: markus schatz who scored so far with releases together with tom clark for highgrade and by himself on labels like opossum and freizeitglauben. he worked out this release with brett longman from paris, known from one of france‘s most prolific labels logistic rec. with „dope on plastic“ both start a dub and percussion rollercoaster- ride: the stripped down structure in the beginning unfolds seamlessly to a wildly grooving dub-inferno. similarly funky „push it“ continues this direction: dodgy fm-sounds meet weird synth bleeps plus a whole load of rhythm - the trackname is to be taken literally here! on the flip-side schatz & longman in „running“ are adding some fine dubby ingredients to there rhythm patterns, next exit detroit, one might say. moody without being cheesy, that‘s how we like it. „good vibes“ is zigzagging elegantly, with deep pulsating melodies worked together with an uplifting groove to a fast-paced and atmospheric track.
